Visa

General

Visitors with Japan, Taiwan and Singapore passport as well as confirmed round-trip-tickets can stay in Korea for 30 days without a visa. However, before entering Korea including Jeju island, visa-free nationals must apply for and obtain approval for K-ETA at www.k-eta.go.kr. If you have any questions relating to K-ETA, please contact K-ETA Center directly at +82-2-2666-0463. The Embassy would not be able to answer questions relating to K-ETA.
Visitors with China passport should get an entry visa before entering Korea. Please contact your local embassy to apply for and get the required visa in advance. For more information, please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at www.mofa.go.kr.

Visa-free entry to Jeju Island

Foreigners who will be arriving on Jeju Island on direct flights from overseas without stopping over at any other parts of Korea may enter without a visa (Direct flights: Hongkong → Jeju Island, Non-direct flights: Hongkong → Incheon → Jeju Island). Be aware that we currently have very limited numbers of international air flight in Jeju Island. Please confirm your flight schedule for visa-free entry. This policy is not applicable to nationals from 23 countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Cuba, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Kyrgyz, Myanmar, Nigeria, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Uzbekistan, Yemen) designated by Ministry of Justice. If you have any questions relating to K-ETA, please contact K-ETA Center directly at +82-2-2666-0463.
*Although they do not need a visa, visitors with Japan, Taiwan and Singapore passport must apply for and obtain approval for K-ETA at www.k-eta.go.kr before entering Jeju island.
*Visitors with China passport can enter Jeju island by direct air flight without a visa and K-ETA.

Invitation Letter

Invitation letter will be issued to any ACBC2023 registrants upon request (e-mail: [email protected]). However, we are unable to send you an invitation letter to apply for a visa prior to receipt of your registration form and full payment of fees. Invitation letter does not imply any financial support by ACBC2023 organizing committee.

Time Zone & Business Hours

Korean time is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+9). Business hours for banks are generally from 09:00 to 16:00 on weekdays only. Banks are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. ATMs are widely available. Major department stores are open from 10:30 to 20:00, Tuesday through Sunday, but smaller shops tend to open earlier and close later every day.

Currency & Exchange

The Korean currency unit is the WON (indicated ₩). Bank notes are ₩50,000, ₩10,000, ₩5,000, ₩1,000 bills and coin denominations are ₩500, ₩100, ₩50, ₩10. Money can be exchanged at Jeju International Airport, banks, and hotels. Visa, Master, American Express, and Diners Club credit cards are accepted here.

Insurance

The Organizing Committee of ACBC2023 will accept no liability for personal injuries sustained by or for loss or damage to property belonging to conference participants, either during or as a result of the conference or during all tours. It is, therefore, recommended that participants arrange their own personal health, accident and travel insurance.
